Festival of Football – Cork 2018

In 2018 the FAI’s Festival of Football and AGM comes to Cork!

The Festival is a series of events celebrating football in a manner which engages clubs and volunteers in order to leave a lasting legacy within the county.

A key element to the festival is our club visits. In short, a club visit is essentially an event that is hosted by the club (fun day, pitch opening, awards ceremony etc.) during which a delegation from the FAI led by CEO John Delaney and President Tony Fitzgerald along with former and current players will pay a short visit to the club.

Clubs who apply for visits during the festival are also eligible to apply for our club support programme which offers grants in the form of equipment, National Draw tickets, match tickets and monetary grants for specific projects such as facility development.

We plan to visit as many clubs as possible during the festival, however it will not be possible to get to all clubs. We will open an online application system for all clubs this coming November.

In preparation for the Festival of Football and to give your club some key advice around applying for a club visit and the club support programme, we are holding a meeting of all clubs in the Estuary Suite of the Rochestown Park Hotel on Monday November 20th from 7.30pm.

Members of the FAI Festival of Football & AGM organising team will present on the application process in detail and will be on hand to answer any questions you might have. We strongly encourage all clubs to attend!
